Last weekend, the national cyclocross championships took place in most European countries. The CUBE CX riders from Charles Liégeois Roastery and Heizomat P/B Kloster Kitchen were successful with a number of podium places and are now starting their final preparations for the World Championships in Tabor (Czech Republic) in just under three weeks' time.

The German CX Championships took place on a three-kilometre course in Radevormwald in snowy conditions. With packed, slippery snow and many metres of climbing, especially on the steep final ascent, the course demanded a lot from the athletes. Judith Krahl was German vice-champion in the women's elite race and Lukas Herrmann took the bronze medal in the men's elite race. In the male U23 category, two riders stood on the podium: Hannes Degenkolb as German champion and Fabian Eder as second place. Benedikt Benz completed the good performance of the Heizomat P/B Kloster Kitchen CX Team with the victory in the junior race.

Many metres of climbing and a spectacular descent with technical passages were part of the Swiss CX Championships in Meilen. The highly awaited duel in the men's elite race between the defending champion Timon Rüegg (Heizomat P/B Kloster Kitchen) and the current world no. 9, Kevin Kuhn (Charles Liégeois Roastery), was won by 27-year-old Timon. Kevin Kuhn took the silver medal 1:03 behind, while Loris Rouiller(Heizomat P/B Kloster Kitchen) finished in sixth place. With Lars Sommer in second place and Finn Treudler in third place, two more riders from Heizomat P/B Kloster Kitchen were able to place at the front in the U23 category. 

The riders from Charles Liégeois Roastery were also successful at other national championships: Lauren Molengraaf secured second place in the female U23 category at the Dutch championships. At the Belgian championships, Julie Brouwers took 8th place in the women's elite race, Thijs Aerts 11th place in the men's elite race and Arne Baers finished 9th in the men's U23 category.
