World Cup Araxá – Brazil calls, CUBE Factory Racing XC delivers
The opening round of the Cross Country World Cup took place in Araxá, Brazil – and the CUBE Factory Racing Team seamlessly continued its success from last year. Finn Treudler (U23 Men) made a bold statement: after finishing 4th in Saturday’s Short Track, the reigning European Champion dominated Sunday’s Cross Country race and celebrated his well-deserved first World Cup victory! Teammate Nicolaj Hougs also pushed hard to the front and completed the podium in 3rd place. Ella Maclean-Howell impressed with two top-5 results: 3rd in the Short Track and a strong 4th place in the Cross Country race.
Last year’s overall World Cup winner, Kira Böhm, made her debut in the Elite category. She fought her way to an impressive 9th place in the Short Track and finished 29th in the Cross Country – a strong performance in her new environment. Ondrej Cink also delivered solid results with two top-30 finishes. And that’s just the beginning: the next World Cup round kicks off in Brazil already next week!
T100 Singapore – Podium finish in the heat test
What a comeback! At the T100 Triathlon in Singapore, Lucy Charles-Barclay claimed 3rd place after a long injury break – despite battling an infection the week before the race and not being able to start in top form. Following a strong swim, she stayed in the lead group, lost only minimal time to eventual winner Kate Waugh during the bike leg, and secured a well-deserved podium finish in 3:53:09 with a determined run in the tropical heat.
Less luck for Frederic Funk and Nico Mann, who both struggled with muscular issues – Nico was forced to end his race early, while Frederic fought on bravely to reach the finish line.
